'drive My Car' Director, Actor Look Forward To Oscars Ceremony

Japanese film director Hamaguchi Ryusuke and actor Nishijima Hidetoshi say they are looking forward to attending this year's Academy Awards ceremony in the United States on Sunday.
Their movie "Drive My Car" has been nominated in four categories, including Best Picture and Best Director. The two spoke to NHK in Los Angeles on Saturday.
Hamaguchi said he arrived in the US about 10 days ago and is having many experiences that seem unreal. He cited as one example a dinner with film director Steven Spielberg, whose movies he has watched since his childhood.
Hamaguchi said he felt that a prominent director like Spielberg and he are similarly making efforts to imprint their own personal sensitivities on their works.
Hamaguchi added that as a movie fan, he is looking forward to the winners being announced.
Nishijima said he wants to enjoy the gathering of people who love movies and create them. He added that he wants to learn something from being with top-class filmmakers.
The Oscars are considered the highest honors in the US film industry.
