Foreign Technical Trainees' Program Resumes In Nagano

A program for foreign technical trainees has resumed in Nagano Prefecture, central Japan, after border controls to prevent coronavirus infections were eased last month.
An organization of nursing care facilities in Komoro City has accepted 80 trainees from Indonesia and other countries. After a quarantine period, the trainees will listen to lectures for two months and then start interning at various facilities inside and outside the prefecture.
On Tuesday, 20 trainees from Indonesia took Japanese lessons on nursing care.
A 22-year-old trainee said she waited for about two years, so she's happy that she was able to travel to Japan. She said she will study hard in order to qualify as a caregiver.
The head of the organization, Amari Yoko, said the trainees have long awaited the opportunity, so she's truly happy that they were able to come to Japan. She said she wants them to enjoy nursing care and study hard so that they will pass the exam.
