The Tokyo Metropolitan Government reported 8,026 new cases of coronavirus infection on Sunday.

The daily tally in the capital rose by 127 from a week ago.

The number of seriously ill patients on a ventilator or an ECMO heart-lung machine in Tokyo was 29, unchanged from Saturday.
