Ukrainian Evacuees Arrive In Japan On Direct Flight From Poland

The first direct flight from Poland on which the Japanese government secured seats for Ukrainian evacuees arrived near Tokyo on Saturday afternoon.
The Immigration Services Agency says six people aged 6 to 55 were on board the fight that landed at Narita Airport. The group consisted of five females and one male.
They are expected to head to their accommodations after going through quarantine and immigration procedures, including coronavirus testing.
Japan has accepted more than 400 people who have fled Ukraine since the start of the Russian invasion, including 20 who arrived on a government plane on Tuesday.
The government plans to continue helping Ukrainian evacuees come to Japan smoothly by securing seats weekly on direct flights from Poland.
