Subaru's second-generation BRZ is clearing its throat before its official debut. While its design remains hidden, the Japanese firm released a video that lets us hear the new coupe's flat-four engine sing for the first time.
Most of the video was shot from the driver's point of view, which is a clever way of keeping the sheetmetal largely out of sight. It allocates more screen time to America's picturesque wilderness than to the car, but the sound of an engine racing from turn to turn and footage of smoking tires breaks the National Geographic vibe.
First announced in August 2019, the Infiniti QX55 will finally make its global debut on Tuesday, November 17. Nissan's luxury division released a preview image that gives us the best look yet at the next addition to its range.
The QX55 is closely related to the QX50 crossover under the sheetmetal, but it stands out from its more family-friendly sibling with a rakish, fastback-like roofline that will inevitably attract the coupe label. It will be to the QX50 what the BMW X4 is to the X3. Although we haven't seen its front fascia yet, Infiniti's preview image shows the rear end wears horizontal LED lights that stretch deep into the quarter panels, along with a roof-mounted spoiler.
There's a brand-new Civic on the way for the 2022 model year, and while Honda isn't quite ready to rip the covers off (that's coming Tuesday, November 17, at 9:45 p.m. on the East Coast or 6:45 p.m. out West), the Japanese automaker hopes to whet the appetites of potential owners with the teasers you see above and below (we bumped up the brightness to bring out as much detail as possible). The image is purposely obscured, of course, but we do get to see enough of the rear shapes to suggest the new version will be more gracefully styled than the current version.
Though we only have one view, it does seem that the overall shape of the lights and the exaggerated spoiler shape match up with the patent images of the sedan we saw a few months back. If those prove accurate, expect the 2022 Civic sedan to have a swept-back style similar to the current Accord. Patent images of a hatchback have also been found.

While official images have yet to be released, photos of the car are beginning to appear on various social media platforms. Instagram user SubaruDwayne posted an image of a thinly-veiled test mule that confirms the BRZ's basic proportions haven't significantly changed. It still wears a long, low hood and a fast-sloping roof line. It looks like the rear side windows are bigger than the outgoing model's, and we can tell the rear lights are much sharper than before.
A couple of years ago, Nikon decided to get serious about its mirrorless efforts and announced both the Nikon Z6 and Z7 full-frame mirrorless cameras to better compete with the likes of Sony. The company has since launched other mirrorless cameras part of its Z-lineup, but what about the originals? Will we be seeing a successor to either model?
It turns out that we might, at least that’s according to a listing on B&H Photo in which the online retailer has listed both the Nikon Z6 II and the Z7 II. The specs of either camera was not mentioned, but the fact that it was listed suggests that these cameras could be on their way. The page also features an event invite to a Nikon announcement which is scheduled for the 14th of October at 12AM ET.
Some 300 giant pumpkins weighing over 60 kilograms each have been gathered at a contest in Ibaraki Prefecture, northeast of Tokyo, ahead of the Halloween season.
The contest in the city of Hitachiomiya judges which pumpkin is the heaviest. The annual event began 12 years ago when around 40 local farmers started growing pumpkins.
