The mayor of a city in Shizuoka Prefecture, central Japan, has filed a complaint with police against the head of a nursery over his alleged cover-ups of suspected child abuse cases involving its workers.

The mayor of Susono City, Murata Harukaze, submitted the complaint on Monday against Sakurai Toshihiko, who heads Sakura Hoikuen -- a private nursery school authorized by the local administration.

Spotify is a music streaming app and we’re sure that many of you know this, but what if you had local music files stored on your phone before you started using Spotify? One of the options was uploading your music to Spotify, but this needed to be done through your computer. An alternative is to find and use a different music player for locally stored files.

The good news is that you may soon no longer have to. According to researcher Jane Manchun Wong, she discovered that Spotify could soon add support for playback of local files. This means that essentially the Spotify app will become an all-in-one app for playback of files stored on your phone, stream music, podcasts, and more.

On your computer if you deleted a file, it would end up in your computer’s trash can. This is done to help you potentially retrieve files you might not have intended to delete, but accidentally done so. However, on your phone, there isn’t anything quite like that, and while you can retrieve deleted files, it’s not so straightforward.

However, the good news is that in the upcoming Android 11 update, it seems that Google has introduced a hidden trash can feature in the operating system. What this means is that in the event that files are deleted, they can be retrieved as long as it is not more than 30 days since they were deleted.

A Japanese journalist at the center of a high-profile rape case has filed a lawsuit against three people over their defamatory social media posts.

TOKYO — Nissan filed a civil suit Wednesday seeking 10 billion yen ($91 million) in damages from the Japanese automaker's former Chairman Carlos Ghosn.

Nissan filed the case in Yokohama District Court to recoup some of the monetary damages suffered, it said, "as a result of years of misconduct and fraudulent activity" by Ghosn.
