The first production Lexus LC500 Convertible Inspiration Series was sold last Friday for a staggering $2 million.
The car was auctioned off at the Barrett-Jackson event in Scottsdale, Arizona, and the new owner will take delivery in July. Proceeds will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of America and Bob Woodruff Foundation.

Bearing the VIN 100001, it’s enhanced with exclusive features such as the Liquid Platinum headlamp and taillight garnishes, mirror cap bottoms and side air intakes. It rides on 21-inch wheels finished in Liquid Graphite with glossy black accents and further highlighting the Structural Blue paint are the blue brake calipers. The 'LC Inspiration Series Launch Exclusive 1 of 1’ scuff plates are part of the build, alongside the white semi-aniline leather.
Aside from the unique car, the winning bidder will also be handed over a custom Zero Halliburton luggage set, as well as autographed memorabilia from the chief engineers and general managers at the Motomachi factory, where Lexus assembles the LC500. The experience will be sprinkled with a driving package, a 3-night hotel stay for two at Pebble Beach Resort, a round of golf at the Pebble Beach Golf Course and others.
Presented at the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show in November, the LC500 Convertible features a four-layer soft top that can be operated in 15-16 seconds at speeds of up to 31 mph (50 km/h). Powering it is the 5.0-liter V8 engine that makes 471 hp (478 PS / 351 kW) and 398 lb-ft (539 Nm) of torque, paired to a 10-speed automatic gearbox. Production of the LC 500 Convertible Inspiration Series is limited to 100 cars.
