Codemasters has announced their F1 2019 title will ship a full two months earlier into the Formula One season, arriving on June 28th during the Austrian Grand Prix weekend on Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and PC.
For the first time ever, players will be able to get behind the wheel of a 2019 regulation car designed in collaboration with F1’s technical team spearheaded by Ross Brawn and Pat Symonds. Not only do the cars adhere to 2019 regulations, but they also feature a range of livery designs that allow for personalization.
“We are absolutely delighted to be able to release F1 2019 earlier in the Formula 1 Season, so that the game can be played and enjoyed at the same time that the real-world championship picture is starting to form,” said Paul Jeal, F1 Franchise Director at Codemasters.
“Our close relationship with Formula 1 has played a major part in achieving this key objective for the franchise. That in addition to our near two-year development cycle, has allowed us to develop some exciting new features and other first for the franchise that we can’t wait to share with our community in the coming months.”
Meanwhile, Lee Mather, Game Director for F1 2019, added that this year’s title will feature more control for drivers, as well as “new levels of car and driver customization.”
Until a real trailer for F1 2019 is good to go, Codemasters released a teaser meant to showcase some of the game’s “brand new look and feel.” It’s not particularly revealing, but it does whet our appetite.
