Ferraris Beware: Someone Stuffed A 580 Ps V8 Into This Subaru Brz

Ferraris Beware: Someone Stuffed A 580 PS V8 Into This Subaru BRZThere have been numerous talks about a more powerful version of the Subaru BRZ/Toyota 86, and the two automakers’ execs explained, more than a few times, why they won’t, or rather can’t, make one.

This means that owners of the compact Japanese sports car have to rely on their own sources to squeeze more power from the naturally aspirated 2.0-liter four-cylinder. Cosworth, for one, has developed a supercharger kit, complete with an intercooler, new intake manifold and new ECU, that raises output to a healthy 280 HP. Or you can just ditch the puny Japanese flat four altogether and replace it with a more powerful unit.Depending on the budget, the sky is pretty much the limit when it comes to heart transplants, and we’ve already seen the naturally aspirated 4.5-liter V8 of a Ferrari 458 in Ryan Tuerck’s Toyota 86. And while the project that we’re about to present isn’t that exotic, it’s still very impressive, given that the Subaru BRZ in question is powered by a GM-sourced LS3 V8.Also Watch: This Toyota 86 Time Attack Car Has A BMW M5 V10Captured on camera while cruising the streets of Monaco, the sports car is said to have a whopping 580PS (572hp / 426kW) and over 900Nm (664lb-ft) of torque available on tap. Telling bystanders that this isn’t your usual BRZ is a flashy body kit with bolt-on fenders, vented hood and large ducktail spoiler, while the car is finished in matte grey and sits on 19-inch wheels. The conversion was done by Brill Steel Motorsport, an Italian body shop based in Villorba, and the car is registered in the Czech Republic.
