HKS Is Already Busy Testing Its Upgrades For The 2020 Toyota Supra

The new Toyota Supra is unquestionably the sports car of the moment and the team from HKS recently had the opportunity to put the car through its paces in Japan.

Those with knowledge of the Japanese car scene, or tuning in general, will be intimately familiar with the name. HKS was founded in 1973 and has established itself as a leader in the production and sales of aftermarket parts for cars, and this clip shows they are already exploring various ways to make the Supra better.

First off, the Supra in question has been outfitted with a new muffler developed by HKS which is currently in its prototype stage. This new exhaust makes the BMW-sourced straight-six engine burble more than normal and has the potential to give the Supra even more character.

Elsewhere, the car has been fitted with adjustable springs and custom wheels and sticky rubber to improve its handling. There’s no commentary from the driver about how the car performs after its upgrades, but it’s pretty clear that those looking to purchase a new Supra will soon have heaps of aftermarket components at their disposal.

One of the main reasons why the previous-generation proved so popular was how sought-after it was across the aftermarket world, and with the new car, Toyota knew it had to develop a car that would lend itself to tuning. Heck, they even went the extra mile, designing various elements of the Snew upra specifically to make life easier for aftermarket specialists.
