Today on ‘How Not To Modify Your Car', we bring you this chrome-studded Honda Civic sedan recently spotted in Massachusetts.

When left standard, the current Honda Civic is quite an edgy looking compact model, but the owner of this particular example clearly thought it needed some extra 'pizazz’ and has slapped on a dizzying array of cheap aftermarket parts.

First, there is the chrome bathing areas like the door handles, parts of the skirts, the wheel arches, side window surrounds, taillights, and various components across the rear fascia. The owner has also slapped on a red Honda badge, as if this was a Civic Type R, and a small gloss black spoiler on the decklid. The worst bit is still yet to come, however.

Entry-level Civic Sedan models have exhausts hidden underneath the rear bumper to make for a sleek and unassuming look. The owner of this Civic obviously wanted some visible 'tailpipes’ and has stuck on a set of four chrome-tipped tailpipes that are absolutely minuscule and are likely made from plastic.

This image was shared on Reddit and we found one particular comment on the photo to be particularly hilarious, reading "Someone got an Autozone gift car for Christmas."

There’s a reason why so many car manufacturers have stopped using chrome parts in recent years; they’re just not popular like they once were. Evidently, the owner of this Honda Civic is still a sucker for the past.
