Friday morning practice sessions for all three classes have been cancelled ahead of the AirAsia Grand Prix of Japan, with low visibility due to thick fog at Twin Ring Motegi.
The Friday programme was due to begin with Moto3™, but a delay had already been announced before the session started. As the morning progressed and the thick fog persisted, joined by drizzle which became a steady rain at approximately 11 o’clock, it was announced that opening practice would be called off for all three categories.
A revised schedule for Free Practice 2 will be announced in due course, after which this article will be updated. The AirAsia Grand Prix of Japan marks Round 17 of 18 and another opportunity for Repsol Honda Team’s Marc Marquez to claim the MotoGP™ world title.
