Nissan Fans Celebrate A Legendary Sports Car At Zcon

Nissan Fans Celebrate A Legendary Sports Car At ZCONAre you a fan of Nissan’s sports cars? Then you’ll want to head to ZCON. The 31st Annual International Z Car Convention is a celebration of the Japanese icon, and it’s starting this week in Atlanta.
Nearly half a decade now since Datsun (as the company was then known) rolled out the original 240Z, the model line still endures in the form of the current 370Z, and has bread numerous iterations along the way. They’ll all surely be represented in fine form at this year’s ZCON, where some 1,200 Nissan and Datsun Zs are expected to take to the streets and racetracks in and around the Atlanta area over the course of five days. And to help with the celebrations, Nissan is bringing four classics out of its archives for the participating fans to behold. There’s a 1960 Datsun 1200 sedan that was one of the first it sold in America. It’ll be joined by an early Fairlady roadster from the same model year, and by a 1965 Datsun 320 Truck. Last but not least will be the GTP-ZX Turbo that Nissan campaigned (with over 850 horsepower) in the IMSA championship in the late 1980s.“These heritage vehicles provide a great window into Nissan’s remarkable heritage here in North America – as well as showcasing how far car design and performance has come when looking at the exciting all-new, 6th generation 2019 Nissan Altima,” said Nissan marketing director Anne Corrao. Also on hand will be racing legends Peter Brock and John Morton, along with Yoshihiko Matsuo – the designer of the original 240Z.
