Nissan has released a sportier-looking version of its Sylphy sedan in Japan called Touring S. Sold as the Nissan Sentra in the United States, the Sylphy receives mainly visual enhancements with the Touring S special edition package.
S Touring models are available with two new exterior colors (Brilliant Silver and Radiant Red), as well as a dedicated gloss black front grille and a sharper front bumper with chrome plating around the fog lights.
The Nissan Sylphy S Touring special edition model also gets standard Xenon headlights. Moving on the sides of the vehicle, Nissan has added new 16-inch aluminum wheels and sharper side skirts. The rear end of the car has received a trunk lid spoiler painted in the car’s color, a more prominent bumper and “S Touring” emblem.
No changes are made under the hood, with the Sylphy Touring S retaining the stock 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine which delivers 131PS (129hp) at 6,000 rpm and 174Nm (128lb-ft) of torque at 3,600 rpm. Mated to a CVT, the unit returns 15.6 km/L (6.4 l/100 km or 36.7 mpg US) according to Japan’s JC08 cycle.
