Pulsar Pulses Its Way Out Of Nissan's UK LineupThe Nissan Pulsar is no longer on sale in the United Kingdom, as the compact hatchback has been removed from the company's website.
The Volkswagen Golf, Renault Megane, Ford Focus, Vauxhall/Opel Astra and Peugeot 308 rival is still being sold by certain Nissan dealers, reports Autocar, but only for the remaining stock.Nissan’s decision behind pulling the plug on the Pulsar in the United Kingdom is strongly related to the car’s sales. In the first eight months of the year, the company managed to move just 2,100 units locally, whereas by comparison, from March until August, more than 4,500 Leaf EVs were registered. Even in its first year on sale, the Pulsar sold in 35,000 examples, which was way behind the automaker’s expectations of 80,000.Also Read: We Drive: Nissan’s 115 HP Pulsar is Swimming With SharksNissan introduced the Pulsar back in 2014, and back then, it was advertised as the car with the greatest wheelbase and trunk capacity in Europe’s C-segment. It came with a number of advanced technologies and was initially powered by two engines, a 1.2-liter petrol and a 1.5-liter diesel, both of them with turbocharging, making 115 PS (114 hp / 85 kW) and 110 PS (109 hp / 81 kW), respectively.Note: Nissan Pulsar N-Connecta Style Edition pictured
