A pair of stunning Honda NSX Type R models are being offered for sale from BH Auction in Tokyo. While the duo are being auctioned separately, we think it would be criminal for any potential buyer to not buy both.
Starting with the older of the two models we have a first-generation Honda NSX Type-R from 1995. Honda only ever built 464 examples of this desirable NSX and each example was fitted with a lovely 3.0-liter naturally-aspirated VTEC V6 engine. Honda engineers worked extensively on stripping away unnecessary weight from the NSX to make the Type-R and ended up with a vehicle approximately 120 kg (264 lbs) lighter than the standard car.

Additionally, the suspension was revised with stiffer dampers, springs, bushings, and a larger front sway bar. Auction estimates predict the car will sell for between $227,000 and $272,000, figures helped in part by the fact that the car has just 534 miles (860 km) on the clock.
As for the second NSX, it is a 2005 NSX-R and is thought to be one of a mere 140 units ever produced. The car features a 3.2-liter naturally-aspirated V6 engine mated to a six-speed manual transmission and uses carbon fiber extensively for its body panels, including the hood and decklid. As this is a second-gen NSX, it doesn’t feature the pop-up headlights of the original but does appear to be painted in the same shade of white. The mileage of this example sits at just 348 miles (560 km) and it is tipped to fetch as much as $436,000.
