Ana Offers Evangelion Augmented Reality Scene At Haneda Airport

ANA offers Evangelion augmented reality scene at Haneda airportAll Nippon Airways Co. is offering a service at Tokyo's Haneda airport for passengers to enjoy an augmented reality view of a robot-like machine in the animation series "Neon Genesis Evangelion" via their smartphones or tablet computers.

After downloading an application and taking a photo of the view outside the airport's Terminal 2 building with their devices, passengers inside the building can view the 80-meter-tall "Evangelion Unit-01" flying, landing on the apron and standing beside an airplane.

The view -- a video image added to the real scene using the AR technology -- can be seen at four points in the department lobby and arrival area of Terminal 2, which is used by ANA flights.

The service launched on June 1 will be run through July 20.
