Jr Tokai To Offer Rides On High - Speed Maglev Train In July, August


JR Tokai to offer rides on high-speed maglev train in July, AugustRailway buffs will get a rare opportunity to whoosh along at speeds of up to 500 kph (310 mph) on the cutting-edge, high-speed maglev train this summer.
Central Japan Railway Co. (JR Tokai) will offer the demonstration rides for 14 days in July and August at its test facility in Tsuru, Yamanashi Prefecture, aboard its "L0 Series" magnetic levitation train. JR Tokai plans to run the L0 on the Linear Chuo Shinkansen Line that is set to go into commercial operation in 2027.

The 30-minute demonstration rides are being offered as a round trip journey on the 42.8-kilometer test track. The train will run at 500 kph for up to four minutes.

The fare will be 4,320 yen ($34.60) for two seats. JR Tokai will accept applications for the demonstration rides on its website until June 22.
