New Musical Production Of 'sailor Moon' To Premiere In September



New musical production of 'Sailor Moon' to premiere in SeptemberSailor Moon fans will be in for a treat when a new musical production of "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon" premieres Sept. 18 in Tokyo.
Subtitled "Un Nouveau Voyage," the show will be held at the AiiA 2.5 Theater Tokyo in Shibuya Ward.



The story will focus on the Death Busters chapter, the third story arc in the original manga series.

The new Sailor Moon musical series was introduced in the early 2010s to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the much-loved manga and anime series. The first production in the new series, subtitled "La Reconquista," opened in 2013. The second installment, "Petite Etrangere," which premiered in 2014, played in Shanghai in January 2015.

The third edition will feature the household characters, including the Sailor Guardians, Tuxedo Mask and Chibi-Usa. The latest musical will also introduce the other popular characters, such as Sailor Uranus, Sailor Neptune, Sailor Pluto and Sailor Saturn.

The show also boasts a star-studded cast, which includes five former members of the all-female musical theater troupe Takarazuka Revue. Shu Shiotsuki will play Sailor Uranus, with Sayaka Fujioka portraying Sailor Neptune. Yuki Kaon, Kei Ogi and Yuga Yamato, who will take on the role of Tuxedo Mask, are also cast members.

Mikako Ishii, who was cast as Sailor Pluto in "Petite Etrangere," will reprise her role, while Karin Takahashi will portray Sailor Saturn.

It will be the final appearance for original cast members Satomi Okubo, Momoyo Koyama, Kanon Nanaki, Yu Takahashi and Shiori Sakata, who play the five Sailor Guardians.

"Un Nouveau Voyage" will run from Sept. 18-27 at the Tokyo venue, and from Oct. 2-4 at the Sankei Hall Breeze in Osaka.
