3rd Japanese victim of Guam attack passed away in hospitalAnother Japanese victim of Tuesday's vehicle and knife attack in the Pacific island of Guam passed away Thursday morning in hospital, raising the death toll to three, hospital officials said.



The male victim was identified by the Japanese Foreign Ministry as 51-year-old Hitoshi Yokota, who had been hospitalized in critical condition at Guam Memorial Hospital after being hit by the assailant's vehicle in a major tourist area of the island.

Besides Yokota, two Japanese women died, 10 other Japanese and one local were injured by the 21-year-old assailant, identified as Chad Ryan Desoto, who was formally charged Wednesday with murder, attempted murder, assault and possession of a deadly weapon in the commission of a felony. He is being held on a $2 million cash bail.
