Police say 6 bodies have been found in a burned house in the city of Sendai, northeastern Japan.
The fire broke out at the 2-story wooden house around 2 AM on Thursday.
Seventeen fire engines were dispatched, and the fire was almost under control several hours later.
Police say they have not been able to contact any of the residents of the house -- a man and his wife, their 2 daughters and 2 grandsons.
The site is in a residential area in the south of Sendai.
