Japan's Prime Minister Shinzo Abe says the country will make further contributions to the international community.
Abe and his wife hosted a banquet at a hotel in Tokyo on Wednesday, to express gratitude to foreign dignitaries who attended Tuesday's enthronement ceremony of Emperor Naruhito.
Abe first welcomed the guests one by one. Then the banquet featured Japanese traditional art performances, Kyogen, Kabuki, Bunraku and Noh, by top-level actors.
Abe later gave a speech saying that Japan in its new era of Reiwa is determined to further work with the international community.
He called on the participants to cooperate with Japan in making greater contributions to world peace and prosperity, as well as resolving global challenges, developing science, technology and culture, and encouraging mutual understanding.
