ASDF's 'Blue Impulse' trainer jets involved in minor midair collisionTwo trainer jets of the Air Self-Defense Force had a minor midair collision Wednesday over the Pacific off northeastern Japan's Miyagi Prefecture, but nobody was injured in the incident, the ASDF said.

The two T-4 jets of the "Blue Impulse" aerobatic team, which had taken off with two other jets for a training flight from the ASDF's Matsushima Base in the city of Higashimatsushima earlier in the day, flew back to the base safely after the incident that occurred at around 11:25 a.m. some 45 kilometers off the city.

The collision caused minor damage to both jets bodies, it said.
