With the severe tropical storm Krosa approaching western Japan, evacuation orders have been issued to 206 people in 119 households in Tokushima Prefecture, 75 people in 39 households in Kochi Prefecture, 22 people in 19 households in Nara Prefecture and five people in three households in Wakayama prefecture, as of 0:30 p.m. on Thursday. The instructions urge immediate evacuation.

Evacuation advisories have been issued in Kochi and other prefectures in Shikoku and Kyushu for a total of about 510,000 residents of about 240,000 households. The advisory, a level 4 on a scale of 5, means residents should quickly flee to safer ground.
