Another ceremony will be held on May 1 where the new Emperor will officially meet the representatives of the people for the first time since taking the throne. It's called the "Sokui-go-Choken-no-gi."
It will also be held in the State Room in the Imperial Palace.
At 11:10 a.m., the new Emperor and Empress will enter the room.
Members of the Imperial family will follow, including Prince Akishino who will be Crown Prince.
Next, the new Emperor will deliver his first speech in his new role.
Then, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will offer greetings on behalf of the people.
About 300 people will attend. They'll include the Prime Minister, the heads of both chambers of the Diet, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, and local government leaders.
