Organizers of an event to showcase Japanese culture in line with this summer's Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games unveiled on Friday the details of the opening ceremony.

The ceremony for the Japan Cultural Expo will be held on March 14 in two parts at the Tokyo National Museum.

The first part will feature an ancient Ainu ceremonial dance, and a musical based on the popular game, "Touken Ranbu."

The second part will feature traditional Japanese Noh and Kabuki dance performances.

The Japan Cultural Expo will be held across the country.

Kabuki actor Onoe Kikunosuke said he hopes to promote Japan's traditional culture both inside and outside the country.
