A Japanese woman has been killed and another was seriously injured in the Central American country of Guatemala.
The Japanese Embassy there says the women were attacked at their home in the northern region of Peten on Sunday.
Local media say the deceased is 26-year-old Yurika Kimoto and that she was found with a bruise on her head. The other victim, 28-year-old Chie Morosawa, is being treated at a hospital.
Media reports say they were possibly attacked by robbers. Police are now looking for suspects.
The incident took place in a rural area about 130 kilometers north of the capital Guatemala City.
