Joc Chief Apologizes For Causing Concern

JOC chief apologizes for causing concern

The head of the Japanese Olympic Committee has apologized for causing concern over a French corruption investigation.

JOC President Tsunekazu Takeda held a news conference in Tokyo on Tuesday.

French prosecutors said last Friday that Takeda was placed under formal investigation last month for alleged bribery related to Tokyo's successful bid for the 2020 Games.

Takeda said he is sorry for causing concern to the people, sports officials and those preparing for the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics.
