Japanese trade minister Hiroshi Kajiyama says Japan and South Korea have agreed to continue policy dialogue to resolve their bilateral trade dispute.
Kajiyama spoke to reporters after bureau chief-level officials discussed export controls for about 10 hours on Monday in Tokyo. It was the first time in three-and-a-half years that policy dialogue of this kind was held.
Kajiyama said that both sides were able to better understand each other's position through discussions from various perspectives.
He described Monday's policy dialogue as progress and added that the next round of talks will be held soon in Seoul.
