Shohei Ohtani of the Major League Baseball team the Los Angeles Angels is reportedly recovering on schedule after knee surgery in September.
The Angels' general manager Billy Eppler told reporters in Arizona on Monday that Ohtani is "still on track to get on the mound potentially at the end of November."
He said Ohtani's rehabilitation program included running on a special machine to reduce the burden on his knee. He also explained that the Japanese two-way star plays catch across a distance of over 40 meters.
Ohtani is expected to begin practicing pitching from the mound and complete his rehabilitation program in mid-December. After a break, he will take part in training camp from mid-February.
