Shimura Ken's classic skits uploaded

The office of iconic Japanese comedian Shimura Ken is uploading his vintage comedy skits on YouTube to raise fund to support health care workers amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Shimura died after contracting the coronavirus in March at the age of 70.

Izawa Office started to upload the videos on Saturday. The ten episodes are from the popular variety TV show "Shimura Ken's Daijoubu Da."

The office says it will donate all of the advertising revenues, after deducting basic expenses, to the Japanese Red Cross Society to be used to support front-line medical staff.

The office expresses hope that the videos will help families across the world to cheer up amid the dire situation caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
