To welcome visiting US President Donald Trump, the landmark Tokyo Skytree tower has been lit up with a special design inspired by the US Stars and Stripes.
Trump arrived in Tokyo on Saturday for a four-day visit to Japan. He is Japan's first state guest in the new Reiwa era.
The 634-meter Tokyo Skytree in Sumida Ward was lit up at 7 p.m. Japan Time with the three colors used in the US Stars and Strips -- red, white and blue.
In the blue section, white lights are blinking to illustrate the stars in the American national flag.
The special illumination, which was proposed by the foreign ministry, will be on till Monday -- one day before Trump's departure.
