Special Anpanman Hotel Room Filled With Fun For Kids

Special Anpanman hotel room filled with fun for kidsJR hotel Clement Takamatsu wants to give children the chance to spend the night with their favorite cartoon character Anpanman.
The hotel has created a special room dedicated to the beloved superhero of the comic and anime series “Soreike! Anpanman” (Let's go! Anpanman), in a tribute to its creator, the late cartoon artist Takashi Yanase.

A stuffed Anpanman in a doorman's uniform and a huge Anpanman toy box greet the lucky children who will stay in the room.

The special accommodation will be available from March 28.

Yanase, who spent his childhood in Kochi Prefecture, located in Shikoku, died on Oct. 13, 2013, at 94.

In connection with the manga, Shikoku Railway Co. (JR Shikoku) has been operating Anpanman trains, with their exterior and car seats decorated with Anpanman manga characters, since 2000.

In addition to the Anpanman trains, Clement Takamatsu, an affiliate of the railroad operator, came up with the idea of creating the special Anpanman Room. However, the special toy box does not include any toys that make noise.

“We do not want to bother other guests,” a hotel official said.

The Anpanman Room rate starts at 12,000 yen ($117) nightly with breakfast for one adult with two children under 5 years of age.
