Tokyo Disney Ramps Up Security

Tokyo Disney ramps up security

The people who run Tokyo Disney Resort are taking no chances with security in the lead-up to the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

They've started installing X-ray scanners and metal detectors at entrances to Disneyland and DisneySea.

Staff at the checkpoints inspect bags for sharp objects, weapons, drones, cans, bottles, and other banned items.

Visitors have to put their bags through X-ray scanners and walk through metal detectors.

A visitor said, "It feels a bit over the top, but it's for security so I don't think they have a choice."

The operator of the resort plans to install the security devices at more entrances.
