Tokyo Reports 2,413 New Cases Of Covid - 19 On Thursday

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government says it confirmed 2,413 new cases of the coronavirus in the capital on Thursday.

The figure is up about 600 from a week ago and marks a sixth straight day of week-on-week increases.

The seven-day average through Thursday stands at 1,811.4, up 15.3 percent from the previous week.

Tokyo officials also reported one death from the virus.

They say there is one seriously ill patient on a ventilator or an ECMO heart-lung machine, up from zero on Wednesday.
