Tokyo Reports 72 New Cases Of Coronavirus
The Tokyo Metropolitan Government confirmed 72 new cases of the coronavirus in the capital on Wednesday.
It's the fifth day in a row that the daily tally has been below 100.
The figure is about half the number recorded a week ago. It is also the lowest tally reported for a Wednesday this year.
Tokyo officials said 43 patients were in serious condition. That is down 12 from Tuesday.
They also reported 13 deaths. That brings the total in Tokyo to 3,057, since the pandemic began.
