Tokyo's Haneda Airport To Get Renovations

Tokyo's Haneda Airport to get renovationsJapan's transport ministry will carry out renovations at Tokyo's Haneda Airport in preparation for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics.
Ministry officials plan to increase the annual number of international departures and landings at the airport by 39,000 to about 99,000 by 2020.

The renovations will make part of the No. 2 terminal capable of handling international flights.

Officials say they will add 2 floors to part of the terminal building to make room for immigration and customs facilities.

The building will have 2 boarding areas designated for international flights and 5 for both international and domestic flights.

Ministry officials say they will finalize the plans before spring and begin work to allow use by 2020.
