Tokyo's Okura hotel unveils swank new look

A historic landmark Tokyo luxury hotel has unveiled its new facilities before reopening next Thursday.

The old main building of what is now The Okura Tokyo closed four years ago for rebuilding.

The new Okura is now ready for an influx of visitors for the 2020 Olympics and Paralympics. Two new towers have a total of 508 guest rooms.

The new lobby preserves the original retro-chic decor blended with traditional Japanese touches.

A suite with a large window and commanding view of the capital goes for about 6,500 dollars a day. The hotel also has a room targeted at overseas VIPs priced at 28,000 dollars.
