Vaccination Centers To Accept Younger People

Vaccination centers to accept younger people

The state-run, large-scale coronavirus vaccination sites in Tokyo and Osaka will begin offering shots to younger people.

Vaccinations for people aged 65 or older are underway at the venues, which are operated by the Defense Ministry. But the sites have plenty of free slots through June 27.

The ministry says the venues will start accepting people aged between 18 and 64 from across the country on Thursday. It says the move is aimed at preventing inoculation capacities from being wasted.

The ministry says those wishing to get shots must have vouchers issued by their respective municipalities.

The ministry will make the final decision on the change on Tuesday.
