Japanese weather officials are urging people in areas affected by Typhoon Hagibis to brace for more rain this weekend.
The Meteorological Agency says it will start raining in the Kanto Koshin region on Thursday afternoon.
The rain is expected to spread over eastern and northeastern Japan from Friday through Saturday.
Levees that collapsed during the typhoon last weekend are being rebuilt, but some embankments remain untouched.
The typhoon's record rains have also loosened the ground.
Weather officials warn that even small amounts of rain can trigger river overflows and landslides.
