World Cosplay Summit 2016 Set For Nagoya

World Cosplay Summit 2016 set for NagoyaCosplayers will be able to strut their stuff on the big stage when the World Cosplay Summit 2016 gets under way in Nagoya from July 30 to Aug. 7, 2016.
The event has been held mainly in Aichi Prefecture since its inception in 2003.
Attracting cosplayers from around the world, the WCS offers a wide range of programs, including the World Cosplay Championship, parades and talks.

In the inaugural 2003 edition, cosplay enthusiasts from four countries took part, with the number of participants on the increase every year since. Cosplayers from 26 countries and regions attended the 13th edition held this year.

A special trailer for the 2016 edition has been released on YouTube, showing memorable scenes from the first and subsequent editions.

Featured in the trailer is a performance by Team Mexico, which won the championship in 2015 dressed in its costumes from the popular "The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask" video game.

In addition, cosplayers dressed as characters from "Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon," "Pocket Monster," "Street Fighter" and other anime and video game titles make appearances.
