The organizing committee of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics says it plans to sell tickets for children, senior citizens and people with disabilities for 2020 yen, or about 18 dollars.
The committee is considering pricing tickets for Olympic events between 18 and 2,700 dollars, except for special tickets with meals and pickup services.
The committee decided on Tuesday to set the special price for groups including children, senior citizens and people with disabilities.
The price will be applied to preliminary round events and some seats for the opening and closing ceremonies.
The committee says it will set an even lower price for Paralympic events.
The committee plans to announce the ticket prices and other details on July 20th after obtaining approval from the International Olympic and Paralympic committees.
Tickets for the Olympics are to go on sale early next year.
