Golf: Late eagle rescues Matsuyama on tough dayJapan's Hideki Matsuyama rescued a tough day with a 16th-hole eagle on Friday as he managed an even-par, second-round 71 and fell into a tie for 22nd at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.



In addition to his eagle, Matsuyama carded two birdies against four bogies at TPC Summerlin in Las Vegas for a two-day total of 5-under-par 137, five strokes back of American Andrew Putnam and Scotland's Russel Knox, who lead at 10 under.

Japan's Ryo Ishikawa, who began the day in 103rd place, recorded a five-birdie, two-bogey 68 that saw him make the cut in 65th.
