Judo Youngster Pete Miles Dreams Of An Olympic Stage In His Sport's Homeland

Judo youngster Pete Miles dreams of an Olympic stage in his sport's homelandF PETER Miles is only half as successful in 2014 as he was in 2013, then he is in for quite a year. Already a multi-domestic champion, the Whitchurch-based judo player took his performance to an altogether new level during the previous 12 months, establishing himself as a major force on the international junior scene.

Such has been his success, that the 17-year-old Chew Valley School sixth-form student is now setting his sights on competing in the 2020 Olympic Games in Japan, the home of judo.

His list of recent successes suggests that is no idle boast. Last year saw Miles win the British Under-18 Championship for a fourth successive season and he followed that up by sweeping the board at Under-21 level to become a five-time domestic champion.
