Kobayashi gets 6th straight World Cup ski jump win

Japan's ski jumper Ryoyu Kobayashi has claimed his sixth straight World Cup win, equaling the tournament record.

Kobayashi finished first in the event in Val di Fiemme in Italy on Saturday. It is his ninth victory in the 2018-19 World Cup season.

He jumped 135 and 136 meters and crushed his rivals with 315 points. That's over 26 points higher than the second place jumper.

Kobayashi is the fifth athlete to have won 6 events in a row at the men's Ski Jumping World Cup in a single season. Among them is legendary ski jumper Gregor Schlierenzauer of Austria, who holds the record of 53 individual wins.
