Legendary Ski Jumper Kasai Sets Three Guinness World Records

Legendary ski jumper Kasai sets three Guinness World RecordsSki jumping legend Noriaki Kasai received three Guinness World Records certificates here on April 1, all in recognition of his success and longevity in the sport.

The 41-year-old silver medalist in the Sochi Olympics has set Guinness World Records in three categories: the most Olympic appearances by a ski jumper at 7, starting with the 1992 Albertville Games; oldest World Cup winner, for when he won the 2014 competition at the age of 41 years and 219 days on Jan. 11; and oldest Winter Olympic medalist, for his silver medal run at the age of 41 years and 256 days on Feb. 17.

"I had been hoping to set a Guinness world record, but never thought I would be recognized in three categories. I'll keep doing my best and use these records as encouragement," commented Kasai.
