Japanese tennis star Naomi Osaka has become the world's Number-One singles player.
The WTA's latest ranking puts her at No.1, up from the 4th spot.
It follows her weekend win of the Australian Open. She is the first singles player from Asia to top the rankings.
Osaka defeated Petra Kvitova of the Czech Republic in the tournament final.
Osaka lost the second set, despite having three match points. But she showed her mental strength in the final set and persevered to capture the title.
Osaka said, "Just regarding strokes, I think definitely I've gotten better in confidence and fighting spirit. I don't think last year I would have been able to win some of the matches I've won this year.
I learned that no matter what the situation, if I fight as hard as I can I'll always have a chance."
Osaka says she has also improved her serve, in terms of placement.
