Shotokan Karate - Do International Federation Saint Lucia Hosts 12th National Karate Championships

Shotokan Karate-do International Federation Saint Lucia hosts 12th National Karate Championships on Nov. 29Come Sunday 29 November 2015 the auditorium of the Dame Pearlette Louisy Primary School will be transformed into a buzz of karate action when the Shotokan Karate-do International Federation Saint Lucia hosts its 12th National Karate Championships.

The event will bring together the 4 affiliates of SKF Saint Lucia – Zanshin Karate Dojo headed by Sensei Ezra Jn. Baptiste, Budokai Karate Dojo currently being headed by Sensei Karim Sifflet, Budoshin Karate Dojo headed by Sensei Pius Stephen, and Bushido Academy headed by Sensei Oliver Lawrence.

Approximately 60 karatekas ranging in age from 5 years to 50 years will be vying for medals and trophies in kata and kumite events. Male and female champions will be bent on maintaining their bragging rights will others will be bent on trying to dethrone the current individual and team champions.

Parents, supporters, and other karate enthusiasts will be flocking the auditorium to support the SKIF karatekas who have been preparing for this occasion over the last 2 to 3 months.

According to Sensei Ezra Jn. Baptiste, Championship Director, the event will take on a new format this time around and starts at 2:00 p.m.
