An event was held on May 2 along the main shopping street in Tokyo's Ginza district to introduce the appeal of Paralympic sports. The event, called "No Limits Special Ginza & Tokyo," was held by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government with backing from organizations including The Mainichi Newspapers.
Demonstrations of wheelchair tennis and wheelchair rugby were held. Yui Kamiji, the youngest player to ever achieve a wheelchair tennis doubles grand slam, was among those showing off their skills, while London Paralympic wheelchair tennis gold medalist Shingo Kunieda provided commentary. Wheelchair rugby was demonstrated by players from the Japanese national wheelchair rugby team.
