The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has given foreign diplomats in Japan a tour of venues for the 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games less than 500 days before they open.
More than 130 ambassadors and embassy staff members from 107 countries and territories took part in the tour on Thursday.
Tokyo Governor Yuriko Koike addressed the diplomats before the event.
She expressed hope that the participants would be able to anticipate the success of the games by seeing the venues.
Koike added that she's looking forward to meeting people from the diplomats' home countries in Tokyo in 2020.
The bus tour covered facilities including the new national stadium and the Olympic Aquatics Center for swimming events.
The participants also saw the Athletes' Village near Tokyo Port from a passenger ship terminal, and were given explanations about the facilities by Tokyo officials.
